Late 30's /1940's Nifty Thrifty Uniform
Why can't uniforms look like this anymore?? The style and design is beyond. This is from the Nifty Thrifty Uniform Shop in Minneappolis. She is a strong stark white cotton with a boat load of lovely details. Perfectly puffed shoulders, gentle gathers at the waist in the back, angular pockets and a slightly skewed button front. She originally had MOP cuff link style buttons, but only one remained and I couldn't find enough in my collection to replace them. So...we put on regular buttons, but you can absolutely replace them with the correct style if ya like. Easy peasy. She is in beautiful condition with only an ink spot on her pocket and a 2 other tiny marks ( see asparagus) Truly nothing that takes away from her IMO. I have laundered her and she's ready to rock. 14 shoulder, 34 bust, 25 waist, free hips, 8.5 armhole, 9 sleeve length, 15 shoulder to waist, 46 length. LOOKS SO CUTE ON!! I can see a ton of ways to style this in my head!
