40/50’s Surf ‘n Sand Alfred Shaheen Pake Mu’u

You just don’t find them easily. Late 40’s early 50’s beautiful Pake Mu’u with 39 inch wings!! High quality cold rayon print by the iconic Hawaiian textile king…Alfred Shaheen. This is from his first label, Surf ‘n Sand in Honolulu. If you are a tiki collector- a lover of all things Hawaiian … this vintage piece is the sort of thing you want in your collection. Deep periwinkle and vibrant yellows with pumpkin and whipped cream. Metal side zipper.
In great condition with one tiny splice in the front fabric, some surface food stains- I sponged one area out and it lifted easily but you can see the watermark left behind because she needs a general bath. This wahine has been tucked away in a dusty wardrobe for YEARS. She also has one 4 inch clean pop in her seam and a little darn in the sleeve. She presents beautifully and will totally shine after a shower and quick mending.
