'20s Hand Painted Beach Pajama Blouse
You may want to sit down for this one! Rare late 1920’s silk pongee beach pajama top with hand painted “moga” ..a term used to describe Japanese women who followed Westernized fashions and lifestyles after WW1. “Modern Girls” were the equivalent of America’s flappers. This top would have had matching wide legged bottoms. She is in lovely condition for her age and material. The only real flaw I see worth noting is a few stitches missing in her pocket…an easy fix! Made from my favorite pongee silk..natural in color with an inky black trim, little breast pocket and the best part..a darling hand painted gal with an archery bow and an arrow shooting through the pocket. I love her face and her clothing and well…everything about her! Meant to be worn boxy and loose.
