1986 Issey Miyake Permanente Wool Waterfall Coat

Damn you epidermis!!! I curse theeeee!
If I didn’t have princess-and-the-pea skin… this coat would be living on my body 24/7. Alas… I’m allergic to wool. 
Behold- a rare Issey Miyake piece.
In 1985, Issey Miyake launched a new line called Issey Miyake Permanente, which focused on reproducing classic silhouettes and fabrics from past collections, emphasizing garments designed for longevity. This line was a response to Miyake's observation that people were still enjoying and wearing older pieces, regardless of the perceived newness of the current season's offerings. 
This is a tonal piece…bone white on antiqued white with angular waterfall front that can also be tossed over the shoulder. One single MOP button is the only closure. Sleeves are lined and her guts are taped. OSFM. She has a few runs ( see green onion for example ) but nothing that distracts from her omg-ness! I quite like it cinched with a waist tie too! ( btw… the belt pictured is also Issey Miyake and will be for sale) 
Proceeds from the sale of this designer piece goes back into the estate of our dear friend Lea who lost her life back in 2022. Leaving behind 4 young adult children that could use some support. So please know your money will be doing good stuff! We are trying to move Lea’s beautiful collections bc they do more for her family if sold at a gentler price than sitting in a wardrobe getting lonely. Lea was an artist and would want these pieces to go outside and twirl!
